Nobel-Peace-Prize-2011
This week the world made history as 3 women were jointly awarded The 2011 Nobel Peace Prize. From left to right the winning ladies are: Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Tawakkul Karman and Leymah Gbowee. In Canada we may not realize the struggle this would be for these women, but in their countries and their circumstances .. this is AMAZING. They were awarded for .. “their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work”. WAY TO GO LADIES! We are proud!

This week Steve Jobs of Apple passed away .. and the world shed a tear. We will miss you, Big Steve .. and all that your amazing, creative mind can achieve. We know that there will be other geniuses, but you were one of a kind. In an era of “Nay” sayers, you proved them all wrong. You opened the door to what was once the unimaginable and showed us all a new path to the future. RIP!

Newcomer, Jessica Chastain rocks the movie industry in her latest film alongside Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. The “Tree of Life” was awarded the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival recently. “I’m a little worried that people will get sick of me. ” Chastain told Reuters in an interview recently. Judging by this amazing photo, we don’t think she has anything to worry about.

Zebroid - A rare cross between a donkey and a zebra
On June 30, 2011, after much anticipation, a rare cross between a donkey and a zebra was born and has made headlines at Cuba’s Ciego de Avila Zoo. The 6 day old wobbly toddler is a very rare hybrid that occurred naturally while his mommy zebra was living with a few donkeys and a giraffe. Quite a cozy little family to be born into. With the luck of genetics, this cute colt has his Daddy’s size and brown coloring but his Mommy’s lovely ears and striped stockings. What a fashion statement this threesome make while walking the zoo grounds in search of fresh nibblings … creating a Buzz while fetching international attention.
While Fox has confirmed that Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson have signed to come back next season, Jennifer Lopez has officially dropped out. Now the race in on to find a replacement. We would love to see Shakira, but sadly she is not the one. Contrary to the rumors going around, Shakira is not the next hot judge on American Idol.
